The Tournament of Roses Association's 935 community volunteers contribute over 80,000 hours of their time each year to the renowned procession.
Viewers can enjoy stunning floral arrangements and floats that honor American technological ingenuity as the parade makes its way through Pasadena, California, for five and a half miles on New Year's Day.

In 1890, the Pasadena Valley Hunt Club intended to honor the city's "charm and beautiful weather," according to the Tournament of Roses website, which is when the Rose Parade began.
The Rose Parade attracted 3,000 onlookers when it began more than 130 years ago. Since then, it has grown significantly and currently attracts millions of viewers globally.
There will be 24 marching bands from throughout the globe, 16 equestrian teams, and 39 rose-covered floats in the 2025 parade.
While some parade floats are still constructed by volunteers, the great majority are constructed by professional firms and might take up to a year to complete.
When Does This Year's Rose Parade Take Place?
Pasadena's 2025 parade will begin at 8 a.m. PT on January 1. It will begin at the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Green Street and finish at the intersection of Villa Street and Sierra Madre Boulevard.

Who Is the Grand Marshal This Year?
Tennis icon Billie Jean King will serve as the 2025 Grand Marshal.

She was the first female athlete to win the Congressional Gold Medal in September and the first female recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.In addition, she established the Billie Jean King Foundation, the Women's Tennis Association, and the Women's Sports Foundation.

For the 98th consecutive year, NBC will carry the parade live. Today co-anchor Hoda Kotb and weather and feature anchor Al Roker will serve as the event's hosts. Additionally, it will be carried on Peacock, NBC's streaming service.
